Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance processing with efficiency and professionalism. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and experience working with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service via phone and in person
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft.
- Verify insurance coverage, process insurance claims, and handle billing procedures including medical collection tasks
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with coding including CPT codes, ensuring proper documentation review for billing purposes
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office correspondence
- Support clinic staff with medical administrative support tasks including intake procedures and care plan documentation
Requirements
- Prior experience in a dental office environment is highly preferred, especially in front desk or administrative roles within clinics or healthcare settings
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management systems such as Eaglesoft.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office management software like Athenahealth or Care plans
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and insurance verification processes
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse patient populations effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a healthcare setting is essential
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in all tasks
- Requires Eaglesoft experience
