Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including acute care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and pediatrics. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADLs), and adaptive equipment training.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and strategies to enhance recovery.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Requirements
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while assisting patients in their rehabilitation journey.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
