What You'll Do
As a Repair Mechanic at G-3 Chickadee, you will support manufacturing operations through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial machinery and equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and promoting a safe and organized work environment.

Troubleshoot, repair, install, and lubricate industrial mechanical equipment, including safety guards and protective shields.

Interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and layouts to determine proper work procedures and communicate technical information.

Perform preventive maintenance activities, including equipment inspections, lubrication, alignments, and adjustments.

Rebuild pumps and a variety of mechanical equipment in accordance with established procedures and specifications.

Test machinery, systems, and equipment to diagnose problems and ensure proper operation.

Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems and related components.

Utilize precision maintenance tools and methods, including:

Shaft alignment
-
Belt tensioning
-
Sprocket and pulley alignment
-
Bearing installation and tolerance setting
-
Proper fastener torque applications
-
Inspect assemblies and installations to verify compliance with specifications using measuring and diagnostic instruments.

Document repair and maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order systems.

Perform repair welding, fabrication, and metal repair activities on equipment, structures, and production components, utilizing welding and cutting processes to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations while interpreting welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and repair specifications as required.
What You'll Bring
Required
-
High School Diploma or GED required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment requirements.

One of the following is required:
-
Three (3) or more years of experience as a Millwright, Machinist, Hydraulics Mechanic, or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment; or
-
Two (2) years of maintenance experience plus an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology; or
-
Completion of a recognized maintenance training or apprenticeship program combined with maintenance experience totaling at least four (4) years
Preferred
-
Five (5) or more years of experience as a Millwright or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology.

Completion of a formal maintenance apprenticeship or technical training program.

Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
-
Basic computer skills and familiarity with computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
-
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.

Demonstrated willingness to learn and perform work across multiple maintenance disciplines.
-
Experience performing industrial welding repair and light fabrication in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including the ability to read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and repair specifications.

Experience with MIG (GMAW), Stick (SMAW), and TIG (GTAW) welding processes; TIG welding experience, particularly with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, is preferred.
