Responsibilities
- Assure the welfare, health and safety of the children
- Feed, change diapers and attend to the needs of each child in your care
- Follow teacher prepared plans of age-appropriate activities for children in care
- Provide love and affection to each child
- Keep director informed of any problems or needs
- Maintain constant supervision of children in your care
- Keep the director advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired and replaced
- Take daily attendance and keep all required reports pertaining to group
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents
- Build good communications with other staff to create a loving, Christian atmosphere
- Follow teacher prepared plans of age-appropriate activities for children in your care
- Attend training as needed
- Pass a Criminal Background Check and TB Test
- Take CPR and First Aid training, as needed
- Understand N.C. Child Care Requirements
- Follow all N.C. Child Care and Sanitation rules
- Follow daycare policies
- Assist teachers in their classroom or with tasks
- Assist director
- Follow schedule determined by daycare director. This may include giving teachers a classroom break, other classroom assistance, substituting in a classroom or any other area where assistance is required. Schedule may change daily.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is highly valued.
- Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions.
- Familiarity with infant care routines, toddler care practices.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus; ongoing training in special education or behavior management is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced setting.
