Position Overview
We’re looking for a full-time, in-person Bookkeeping & Payroll Accountant to handle day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll for business clients. You’ll work with multiple clients, maintain financial records, and process payroll.
This role is ideal for someone with bookkeeping and payroll experience who wants stable hours and exposure to public accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers, reconciliations, and financial records for assigned clients
- Process client payrolls using QuickBooks and related platforms
- Record journal entries, reconcile bank and credit card statements, and prepare financial statements
- Prepare and file New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax (GRT), Wage Withholding Tax (WWT), and Compensating Tax (CMP) returns
- Communicate with clients to obtain documentation, resolve discrepancies, and provide ongoing support
Desired Qualifications
- Bookkeeping or payroll experience, preferably in a public accounting or client service environment
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online
- Payroll processing experience and related tax filings
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
- Desire to work full-time and overtime during peak times of the year
- Beneficial but NOT required: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
