We are looking for compassionate and experienced Residential Behavioral Workers to provide direct supervision and care for youth during the evening and overnight hours. We currently have two available shifts [6am-6pm and 6pm-6am].
At Brazos and Llano House, staff are trained and supported in using Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) principles alongside trauma-informed care interventions to create a safe, healing-centered environment where youth can build trust, resilience, and life skills.

About Llano House
Llano House, a program of Safe Haven Youth Ranch, provides a structured 6–9 month residential transition program for youth ages 10–14 in Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) conservatorship. Our program serves youth who require a supportive, therapeutic environment to stabilize, heal, and prepare for successful step-down to family-based or less restrictive settings.
Built on youth-guided, trauma-informed care, Llano House delivers individualized services focused on emotional regulation, skill development, educational engagement, and permanency planning. Our goal is to equip each young person with the tools, structure, and consistent support needed to promote long-term stability and well-being.
About Brazos House
Brazos House, a program of Safe Haven Youth Ranch, provides a structured 6–9 month residential treatment program for youth ages 15–17 in Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) conservatorship who are experiencing substance use challenges.
Our program specializes in trauma-informed substance use intervention within a safe, highly supportive environment. Brazos House integrates evidence-based treatment services, individualized recovery planning, behavioral health support, and life skills development to address the underlying factors contributing to substance use.
Through youth-guided care, family engagement, educational support, and relapse prevention planning, we equip young people with the tools, coping strategies, and accountability necessary to sustain recovery and transition successfully to family-based or less restrictive placements.
Program Description
Safe Haven Youth Ranch is a 32-bed trauma-focused residential program that offers a unique approach to achieving healing and recovery. Our program combines evidence-based trauma treatment interventions, 4-H youth development programming, and individualized behavior skills training as a treatment alternative for youth who have experienced severe childhood trauma, abuse, and neglect.
In addition to serving youth impacted by foster care involvement, Llano House specializes in supporting young people transitioning from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). These youth often carry the dual weight of past traumatic experiences and the challenges of reentering their communities after time in the juvenile justice system.
Through our programs, we strive to provide a safe, structured, and empowering environment where youth can build trust, learn new skills, and create a path toward stability, resilience, and long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of youth ages 12–17.
- Provide trauma-informed care using TBRI principles.
- Serve as a positive role model, encouraging healthy behaviors and accountability.
- Support daily routines, crisis management, and emotional regulation.
- Document activities, behaviors, and incidents accurately.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet individual treatment goals.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a residential program or with youth in the TJJD system.
- Ability to meet the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the position.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, or related field.
- Experience working with youth in trauma recovery programs.
