American Traveler is hiring a travel EEG Technologist for a night shift position in a Level IV Accredited Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, requiring a minimum of 3 years of EEG experience and proficiency with continuous video EEG monitoring across all patient age groups.

Located in an 8-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) within a NAEC Level IV Accredited Epilepsy Center and ABRET Accredited EEG Department

12-bed EMU with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6
-
Patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, and adults across critical care units including NICU, PICU, CHSU, BMT, NVICU, and MICU
-
Procedures include routine and STAT EEGs, continuous video EEG monitoring, inpatient EP procedures, and outpatient EEG and EP procedures
-
All inpatient EEGs are performed at the bedside
-
EEG services provided 24/7/365, including to other HCA hospitals in North Texas
-
Primary equipment and documentation system is Natus Xltek; Meditech used for billing
-
Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week

Rotating weekends required
-
No on-call requirement

Does not float to other units; may perform EEGs at an affiliated Heart & Spine hospital

Minimum of 3 years of EEG experience required, with active work in the role within the last 6 months
-
Proficiency with routine and STAT EEG procedures required
-
Proficiency with continuous video EEG hook-up and monitoring required
-
Experience with collodion and paste electrode application methods required
-
Ability to place electrodes according to the 10/20 Electrode Measurement System required
-
Experience working with neonates, pediatrics, and adult patient populations required
-
Experience working in critical care settings required
-
Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) certification through ABRET highly preferred
-
License required if applicable

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates will be considered

US SSN and DOB required for consideration
-
One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Responsibilities include performing bedside EEG recordings, monitoring continuous video EEG for abnormal waveforms, escalating findings to physicians, and explaining procedures to patients and families

Experience monitoring continuous video EEG with ability to identify abnormal waveforms is an advanced skill sought for this role

Experience with elective EMU patients and stereo EEG monitoring is preferred

Department is staffed with a mix of seasoned and newer technologists
-
The facility serves as a clinical training site for an EEG program
-
Ceil blue scrubs required
