Overview
The PDI Shop Assistant (Apprentice) supports our PDI Technicians in preparing new and pre-owned RVs for customer delivery. This is a hands-on, entry-level position designed for someone who wants to learn the RV service trade. You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning basic mechanical, electrical, and inspection skills while helping keep the shop organized and efficient.
This position is a starting point for growth into a full PDI Technician role.
Duties
- Assist shop technicians with RV inspections and preparation for customer delivery.
- Help install basic accessories and components.
- Learn to test lights, appliances, water systems, and apply sealants.
- Perform simple parts installations, minor adjustments, and basic repairs under supervision.
- Learn and properly use hand tools and basic power tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in and around the RV service shop.
- Complete general shop upkeep duties, including emptying trash, sweeping floors, and other assigned cleaning tasks.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifiactions
- Basic shop skills and/or service background
- Understanding of plumbing and/or electrical components
- Eligible work authorization in the U.S.
- Mechanical, electrical and electronics aptitude; troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good communication, organizational and learning skills.
- The ability to work independently and as a team member.
