Project Engineer (Fulltime permanent with benefits)
Building Automation / HVAC Controls Engineer (On-Site – Reno, NV)
We’re hiring a Project Engineer to lead building automation projects within a construction environment, with a strong focus on HVAC controls integration.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:
· Lead full lifecycle of building automation projects from design through final delivery and handover
· Develop control system drawings, sequences of operations, and maintain accurate as-built documentation
· Integrate HVAC/mechanical systems with building automation controls
· Review architectural plans/specs to ensure alignment with design and engineering standards
· Select hardware, devices, and vendors; manage procurement, logistics, and installation coordination
· Oversee onsite installation, ensuring safety compliance (OSHA) and quality standards
· Manage project schedules, budgets, and multiple concurrent assignments
· Handle change orders, identify value engineering opportunities, and control project costs
· Coordinate commissioning, third-party verification, and warranty phase support
· Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and provide regular project updates
· Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and utilize tools like AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office
· Requirements: Bachelor’s in Engineering/Construction Management (preferred) or 4+ years related experience; 5+ years in building controls/construction; strong HVAC knowledge, controls integration experience, leadership skills, and ability to work independently
