We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for our young patients while assisting the dentist in various procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring the comfort and safety of pediatric patients.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including follow-ups and reminders, acting as a liaison between patients and the dental team.
- Utilize dental software for record management and billing processes.
- Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in managing any medical emergencies that may arise during appointments.
Experience
- Two years of experience in the dental field.
- Knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, medical coding, and dental imaging is required.
