$38.00/hour
$147/day Per Diem (for qualified travelers)
Overtime
- Time and a half after 40 hours
- Double time on Sundays
- Overtime is voluntary and offered through sign-up sheets
Shift Options
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Guaranteed 40 hours per week
Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Sheetmetal Mechanics to fabricate and install sheet metal components aboard marine vessels. This position includes the fabrication and installation of ductwork, ventilation systems, exhaust systems, instrumentation panels, and other shipboard sheet metal assemblies.
Candidates must be able to read blueprints, perform layout work, operate sheet metal equipment, and produce quality work in a fast-paced shipyard environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Fabricate and install ductwork, vent systems, exhaust systems, and sheet metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and shop sketches
- Measure, mark, cut, and fit sheet metal accurately
- Operate brakes, shears, rollers, and other sheet metal equipment
- Perform layout using both standard and metric measurements
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all shipyard safety and quality standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of sheet metal or related experience
- Sheet Metal
- Shipfitting
- Joiner
- Carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience working with standard and metric measurements
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques
- Ability to safely operate sheet metal machinery
- Physically capable of working in a shipyard environment
