Position Summary
The Deburr Operator is responsible for finishing precision-machined aerospace components by removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections to meet exact customer and engineering specifications. This position requires excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deburr, polish, clean, and finish precision aerospace components to customer and engineering specifications.
- Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, rotary equipment, and other finishing tools to achieve required surface finishes.
- Inspect parts using visual inspection techniques, magnification equipment, and precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and follow blueprints, manufacturing travelers, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify and report nonconforming parts, tooling concerns, or quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Handle a variety of aerospace materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other specialty alloys.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area while following 5S and company safety standards.
- Support production goals by working efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Perform additional finishing operations, including masking, part cleaning, and surface preparation, as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to two years of manufacturing experience, preferably in aerospace or precision machining.
- Previous deburring, finishing, or precision hand-finishing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to work with small, intricate parts.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
