What will I be doing?
The Line Cook primary duty is to prepare food for hotel’s F&B outlets. The cook is to follow the Hotel’s core standards and detailed standardized recipes. The recipes that are used are to ensure that our guest receive the food of both the highest quality and consistency that is to be expected from our Doubletree Suites Hotel.
Detail Job Duties

Run the day to day operation of every station in the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations throughout shift.
- Assist in creating and preparing menu items and specials.
- Assist in receiving, rotating, and storing food products properly to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Check and set-up the station.
- Communicate with the Executive Chef and Kitchen Supervisor regarding menu items, problems situations or shortages.

Store items properly at the end of the shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Follow all guideline for timely food service to guest.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Qualification
-
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
- Food Handler’s Certificate.
Experience
-
Experience in hotel industries as a Line Cook/ Cook Banquet.
Ability

The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures

The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement.

The ability to handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor.

The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of the Doubletree and encourage your co-workers to do the same.

The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

The ability to have knowledge of Doubletree standards.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.

The employee is expected to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb and crawl, depending upon work tasks, and to lift up to 50 pounds given materials moved and tools used.

Will be transporting, moving, lifting, and/or stacking of food produce, boxes and kitchen equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Requires standing and walking 95% of workday.

Considerable repetitive motion of hands, wrists, shoulders and back is required.
- Repetitive elbow motion in mid-range for chopping.

Able to spent time standing in front of hot stoves and ovens.
