LightScalpel, an American based surgical carbon dioxide laser designer and manufacturer located in Bothell, Washington, is looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our production team. In this role, you will assemble and test build-to-print surgical laser systems and accessories.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly operations in a manufacturing environment at a fast, but accurate pace, following work instructions and drawings.
- Complete the assembly of simple and complex components with little or no supervision.
- Install, mount, fasten, align, and adjust parts, components, wiring, and harnesses.
- Ensure all products are built and tested according to the documented procedures, and all forms are completed correctly.
- Troubleshoot, repair, reassemble and test assembled components-with limited supervision.
- Maintain records of assembly process, progress, and problems.
- Maintain proficiency in the use of required machinery/equipment.
- Display knowledge of manufacturing practices
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- High School minimum, AA preferred.
- At least one (1) year experience in production or assembly, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Hand soldering skills preferred
- Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions including the interpretation of engineering drawings and production documentation
- Attention to detail and organization skills
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a lighted, indoor environment containing electronic production and test equipment.
- This position is regularly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Use of protective and safety equipment may be required.
Position Type/Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week. Work shift to start either at 6am.
Salary Range: $20 - $22/hour DOE (calculated based on full-time employment)
