Position: Full-Time Assistant Manager
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with every other Saturday
Location: Premier Rental Position
Summary: Premier Rental is looking for a dependable, hands-on Assistant Manager with a background in diesel mechanics or small engine repair to oversee the day-to-day operations of our shop and rental fleet. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on equipment, leading a team, helping customers, and keeping a busy rental operation running smoothly.
The Assistant Manager will oversee shop employees, assist with equipment maintenance and repairs, support the rental counter when needed, and help ensure equipment is clean, safe, serviced, and ready to rent.
Key Responsibilities:
Shop & Equipment:
- Oversee daily shop operations and prioritize maintenance and repair needs
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair rental equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing
- Inspect equipment coming back from rentals and prepare it for the next customer
- Ensure equipment is clean, fueled, serviced, and rental-ready
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment when needed
- Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and safety
- Track equipment repairs, maintenance, and parts
- Communicate equipment issues and repair needs to management.
Employee Supervision:
- Oversee and provide direction to employees
- Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed properly and efficiently
- Train employees on equipment operation, maintenance, loading, and safety procedures
- Help maintain a positive, productive work environment
- Assist management with employee scheduling and performance concerns
Front Desk Support:
- Assist the rental counter when needed
- Help customers with equipment questions and basic operating instructions
- Assist with equipment check-outs and returns during busy periods
- Help resolve customer equipment issues and rental concerns
- Provide friendly, professional customer service
Qualifications:
- Diesel mechanic and small engine repair mechanic experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working on construction, landscaping, agricultural, or rental equipment preferred
- Ability to operate and safely load a variety of equipment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Reliable, organized, and dependable
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift, move, and work around heavy equipment
- Must be comfortable working in a hands-on shop environment

Pay: $41,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
