Job Summary
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our dynamic inpatient care team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, a passion for patient-centered care, and a strong background in acute and chronic disease management. In this role, you will collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive inpatient services, perform detailed patient assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans while adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations, vital sign assessments, and detailed patient histories to inform clinical decision-making.
- Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and adjust treatment plans accordingly within scope of practice and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and sterile processing when necessary.
- Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious diseases, critical care scenarios, and geriatrics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, specialists, therapists, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects, and utilization review processes to enhance patient outcomes.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for efficient documentation and data retrieval.
- Extensive experience with medical office procedures such as phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, and injection administration.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare diagnosis coding systems including CPT codes, ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate billing and documentation.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex inpatient cases across various specialties such as gastroenterology, cardiology, infectious disease care, behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, and trauma centers.
- Skilled in performing advanced procedures like sonography, dermal fillers administration, esthetic laser treatments, spinal taps, ventilator management, and tube feeding protocols.
- Familiarity with occupational health protocols including Workers' compensation law and telehealth platforms for remote patient management.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on treatment options while fostering a supportive environment for diverse populations including pediatric and elderly patients with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Knowledge of critical & intensive care practices within hospital medicine settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers; experience with ventilator management is preferred.
