Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Days & Nights

Join Our Medical-Surgical Nursing Team
We're hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for multiple Medical-Surgical units at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity with openings on both day and night shifts.
Whether your experience is in general medical-surgical care, post-operative recovery, orthopedic nursing, telemetry, or respiratory care, you'll work alongside experienced physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care in a Magnet-designated health system.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 36 hours per week
- Three 12-hour shifts each week
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Opportunities across multiple Medical-Surgical units

What You'll Do
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
- Care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Monitor post-operative patients and coordinate recovery plans.
- Administer medications, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, Foley catheters, drains, and wound care as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Patient Population
You'll care for a variety of adult medical-surgical patients, including:
- General medical patients
- Post-surgical recovery
- Orthopedic patients
- Neurology and spine patients
- Renal and dialysis patients
- Respiratory patients
- Urology patients
- Telemetry patients
QualificationsRequired
- Graduate of an accredited ASN, BSN, or Diploma Nursing program
- Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
Preferred
- Previous Medical-Surgical RN experience
- Telemetry experience
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
