Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accountant to support the company’s financial operations and partner closely with the Chief Executive Officer. This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgeting activities, and delivering cost accounting insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and experienced in financial reporting, cost management, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
· Oversee daily accounting operations and general ledger activity.
· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Develop, monitor, and analyze company budgets and forecasts.
· Perform detailed cost accounting analysis, including labor, materials, overhead, and inventory costing.
· Analyze variances and provide recommendations to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
· Monitor cash flow and key financial performance indicators.
· Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.
· Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals.
· Review payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes for accuracy and efficiency.
· Provide the CEO with financial analysis, reporting, and decision-support insights.
· Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting systems and improve financial processes.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
· CPA designation preferred, but not required.
· Five or more years of accounting or controller-level experience.
· Strong background in cost accounting and budgeting.
· Experience in manufacturing or inventory-based environments preferred.
· Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
