Shellscapes is a landscape construction company specializing in high-quality outdoor projects, including patios, pathways, retaining walls, irrigation, drainage, planting, fencing, decks, gravel driveways, and custom hardscape installations.
We are looking for an experienced, reliable, bilingual Landscape Construction Foreman / Project Manager to help manage daily field operations, oversee multiple crews, coordinate materials and scheduling, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on construction professional who can manage landscape construction projects from start to finish. This role includes supervising up to 4 crews, coordinating daily schedules, purchasing and organizing materials, communicating with clients and suppliers, and maintaining strong quality control across multiple job sites.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, dependable, and comfortable managing both people and project details. English/Spanish bilingual communication is required, as this role involves daily communication with English-speaking clients, management, suppliers, and Spanish-speaking crew members.
This is a field leadership position with responsibility for construction project management, crew scheduling, material purchasing, quality control, and oversight of multiple landscape construction crews. A company vehicle is provided for work-related use.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise up to 4 landscape construction crews across multiple job sites.
- Oversee daily construction project management, including planning, scheduling, sequencing, and jobsite coordination.
- Coordinate crew schedules, daily assignments, project priorities, and jobsite logistics.
- Review project scope, plans, layouts, measurements, estimates, and daily work goals with management.
- Communicate instructions clearly to crew members in both English and Spanish.
- Purchase, pick up, order, and coordinate delivery of project materials.
- Track material needs, quantities, tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, delivery drivers, and company management.
- Monitor job progress, productivity, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Maintain quality control for hardscape, planting, irrigation, drainage, fencing, grading, decks, and general landscape construction.
- Identify potential issues early and help solve field problems before they delay the project.
- Ensure job sites are clean, safe, organized, and properly stocked.
- Communicate professionally with clients when needed.
- Take progress photos and provide regular updates on project status.
- Help manage labor efficiency and material usage.
- Assist hands-on with installation work when needed.
- Ensure all work is completed according to company standards.
- Responsibly use and maintain the company vehicle provided for work-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a landscape construction foreman, project manager, superintendent, crew lead, or construction supervisor.
- Experience managing multiple crews or multiple job sites preferred.
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction and hardscape installation.
- Experience with patios, pavers, flagstone, retaining walls, grading, drainage, irrigation, planting, fencing, decks, or similar outdoor construction work.
- Strong construction project management skills, including scheduling, planning, sequencing, and job coordination.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage field crews.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to read basic plans, layouts, measurements, estimates, and project notes.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Clean driving record preferred.
- Ability to drive company vehicles and pick up materials.
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor when needed.
Preferred Experience
- Experience overseeing 2–4 crews at one time.
- Equipment operation experience, such as Dingo, mini-excavator, skid steer, plate compactor, or similar equipment.
- Irrigation installation or troubleshooting experience.
- Paver, bluestone, flagstone, or retaining wall installation experience.
- Experience purchasing materials from suppliers and coordinating deliveries.
- Basic knowledge of job costing, labor tracking, change orders, and material quantities.
- Experience communicating directly with homeowners or clients.
- Experience scheduling crews, materials, deliveries, and subcontractors.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend work depending on weather, project deadlines, and client needs.
Vehicle: Company vehicle provided for work-related use.
Highly experienced candidates with strong bilingual English/Spanish communication skills, proven construction project management ability, and experience managing multiple crews may qualify for the higher end of the pay range.
