Job Description
The After-School STEM Program Coordinator leads the Amplify STEM initiative, ensuring the effective implementation of STEM-focused after-school activities and youth engagement. This program empowers refugee and immigrant students by offering academic support, hands-on STEM experiences, and individualized tutoring to enhance their learning and development.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist in recruiting, processing, and supervising AmeriCorps Members and STEM volunteers.
· Develop and facilitate ongoing training for AmeriCorps Members and STEM volunteers
· Develop relationships and partnerships with community- based organizations, Omaha metro area public schools, Millard public schools, and other entities that support the goals of the Amplify STEM program.
· Plan logistics of youth recruitment, enrollment, transportation, and service delivery for both mentoring and after school STEM programs.
· Oversee the development of the Amplify STEM curriculum in accordance with evidence-based practices.
· Organize materials and lessons for weekly STEM programming.
· Plan field trips, speakers, and other events related to Amplify STEM curriculum.
· Organize youth engagement activities for all youth programming to encourage engagement in programs.
· Collaborate with the program manager to ensure outcomes are tracked in accordance with grant requirement.
· Ensure the quality data tracking and reporting of all after school program participants.
· Promote the agency and program to other entities as well as different refugee communities.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, or other related social services field.
· Excellent planning and collaboration skills
· Ability to initiate new relationships with community stakeholders.
· Goal oriented person who can produce result with minimum supervision.
· Strong organizational skills including multi-tasking, prioritizing, planning, and effective time management.
· Familiarity with AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps alum preferred.
· Passion for teaching English as a foreign language and/or STEM subject material.
· Fluency in written and spoken English.
· Ability to communicate with limited-English speakers.
· Demonstrated youth multi-cultural experience.
· Computer literacy required, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the State
