Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Press Brake Setup/Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to shape sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, safety standards are upheld, and quality specifications are met consistently. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring proper tooling and machine calibration for each job.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine correct machine settings and tooling configurations.
- Perform precise measurements using measuring instruments and measurement (quality control) tools to verify part dimensions meet quality standards.
- Adjust machine parameters as needed during production runs to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of press brake equipment to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of hand tools, tooling, cranes, and safety equipment during operation.
- Collaborate with team members on forming processes, tooling setups, and quality inspections to ensure seamless workflow.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating and setting up press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, and other machining tools is highly desirable.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools for quality control purposes.
- Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills, and safety standards in production environments.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes including forming machines and metal assembly techniques.
- Ability to operate hand tools, tooling setups, cranes safely, and perform precision measurements consistently.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with a proactive approach to machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and quality inspection procedures in accordance with industry standards.
