Job Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented, patient‑focused, PART-TIME Ophthalmology Intake Technician to join our clinical team. This position is responsible for performing the initial patient work‑up, including vision testing, gathering history, performing testing, and accurately documenting the patient’s presenting problems into the electronic health record (EHR). This will be for Tuesday's, Thursday's and some Friday's.

Duties
- Greet patients and prepare them for their exam in a friendly, professional manner.
- Perform accurate visual acuity testing, including distance and near vision.
- Document chief complaint and history of present illness (HPI) using structured, compliant medical documentation standards.
- Record relevant ocular and medical history, medications, and allergies.
- Perform diagnostic screening tests, such as Autorefractor/keratometer, OCT's, visual fields and measurements (training provided).
- Assist the provider by ensuring all intake information is complete, accurate, and ready before the exam.
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and equipment.
- Support clinic flow by helping patients move efficiently through their visit.
- Uphold HIPAA, compliance, and patient confidentiality standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with medical documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency; experience with EHR systems is a plus.
- Professional, reliable, and team‑oriented.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
