A rapidly growing financial services corporation is seeking an Accounting Manager with industry experience on a direct hire basis. The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in a regulated or financial services environment, and the ability to manage accounting operations while partnering closely with leadership.
Company will consider a strong senior accountant with supervisory experience or an accounting supervisor looking for a promotion.
Responsibilities:

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

Support audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.

Review and improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Partner with finance, operations, compliance, and leadership teams on reporting, forecasting, and business initiatives.

Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is required.

CPA preferred but not mandatory.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including current/ prior experience in the financial services industry.

Supervisory experience required.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

Experience with month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, audit support, and internal controls.

Strong Excel and accounting system skills.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
