Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by taking medical histories, and dental examinations to ensure comprehensive care
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
- Manage medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Cleaning your work area before and after all appointments.
- Review and document medical records accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with dental terminology knowledge and professionalism. Helping to schedule and confirm your patients.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or soft dent for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, including patient care, and patient assessment.
- Ability to perform assist with x-ray imaging while maintaining strict infection control standards.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality and documentation review processes.
