Position Summary
We are a brand new upscale bakery cafe that is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and hardworking individuals to join our opening caking team. This position is responsible for preparing, and decorating cake products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and presentation. Our ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can work early morning shifts, and takes pride in creating exceptional products for our guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Opening Responsibilities
- Arrive on time for scheduled opening shifts.
- Unlock and prepare designated cake workstations.
- Perform opening safety and equipment checks
- Review daily production schedules and inventory requirements.
- Set up ingredients, tools, and caking stations for production.
Caking and Production
- Prepare cakes and other cake products according to Paris Baguette recipes and standards.
- Measure and mix cake products accurately.
- Prepare fillings, icings, toppings, and garnishes as required.
- Decorate cakes, and specialty items according to company specifications.
- Ensure all products meet quality, freshness, and appearance standards before display.
- Remove and properly dispose of expired or damaged products.
Food Safety and Sanitation
- Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout each shift.
- Clean and sanitize baking equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Properly store ingredients and finished products.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Complete cleaning checklists and sanitation logs as required.
Inventory and Receiving
- Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying product quantities.
- Store ingredients and supplies according to company procedures.
- Monitor ingredient levels and report shortages.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Minimize waste through proper handling and storage of products.
Teamwork and Customer Support
- Communicate effectively with managers and team members.
- Respond positively to direction, coaching, and feedback.
- Support team goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Assist with special orders and holiday production as required.
Qualifications
- Previous cake or food service, restaurant, or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work full time early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including ovens, freezers, and refrigeration units.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Early morning opening shifts required
- Weekends and holidays as business needs dictate
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual Salary: $35,000
- 5 Days Paid Time Off (PTO) annually
