Tractor Trailer Drivers are responsible for preparing, securing and the eventual transport of walking floor, dump trailers and van trailers to various disposal sites which include landfills, transfer facilities and the various customer job site locations. This may also entail operating in tight environments, backing up long distances such as driveways as well as heavy industrial and crowded city environments.

Hold a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Equivalent of high school diploma or GED

1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL preferred.

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Must be able to climb in and out of commercial vehicle consistently throughout the workday using 3-point contact

Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 75 pounds occasionally throughout the workday .

Ability to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces, bend, squat, and other physical requirements as necessary to complete the essential duties and responsibilities.

Must be able to operate a manual transmission

Must have a positive driving records minimal to no infractions
- Operate heavy duty commercial vehicle in accordance with the FPC Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act), DOT (Department of Transportation) as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
- Deliver collected waste or recyclables to landfill, MRF or Transfer Station
- Expected to deliver and return containers to a customer’s property in a position that ensures the safe and proper operation of the container. Ensure driveway entrances, mailboxes or other traffic thruways are not blocked.
- Must follow the route as assigned by dispatch and understand the customer’s needs.
- Tarping and un-tarping trailers, Use of landing gear crank handle to raise and lower trailer for coupling and uncoupling of trailers and opening and closing of trailer doors.
The candidate hired for this role will also be expected to support/back-up the Truck Switcher at our Transfer Station when needed. This will include safely and efficiently moving trailers and other equipment between loading docks, yards, and other areas using specialized tractors, trucks, trailers and heavy equipment.
