Position Summary
The Development Manager plays a key role in advancing AGE of Central Texas’ mission by cultivating donor relationships, generating philanthropic revenue, and supporting the organization’s overall fundraising strategy. Working closely with the Chief Development & Communications Officer, the Development Manager will manage a portfolio of donors and prospects and be directly responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual and corporate supporters.
This is a relationship-driven fundraising position with clear revenue expectations. The ideal candidate is comfortable initiating conversations, making direct asks, building long-term relationships, and taking ownership of fundraising opportunities from prospect identification through solicitation and stewardship.
In addition to managing their own fundraising portfolio, the Development Manager will support annual giving, donor stewardship, special events, sponsorships, and other development initiatives that contribute to AGE’s annual revenue goals.
The candidate must be willing to drive on behalf of AGE, perform other duties as requested, and work occasional nights and weekends for critical major events and campaigns.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors, corporate partners, and prospective supporters with responsibility for achieving an established annual revenue goal.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects through personalized outreach, meetings, tours, calls, and other engagement opportunities.
- Conduct direct solicitations for annual gifts, sponsorships, and other philanthropic investments.
- Develop strategies to increase giving among existing donors and move qualified supporters toward deeper engagement with AGE.
- Build a pipeline of prospective donors and corporate partners through research, networking, referrals, events, and community engagement.
- Track portfolio activity, revenue, solicitations, and donor movement toward established fundraising goals.
- Partner with the Chief Development & Communications Officer on major gift prospects and other high-value fundraising opportunities.
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
- Build authentic, long-term relationships with donors and prospective supporters by connecting their interests with AGE’s mission and programs.
- Develop and execute individualized cultivation and stewardship strategies for assigned donors.
- Conduct regular donor meetings, facility tours, program visits, and other meaningful engagement opportunities.
- Ensure donors receive timely and thoughtful acknowledgment, recognition, impact reporting, and follow-up.
- Identify opportunities to retain, upgrade, and re-engage donors.
Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships
- Identify and cultivate prospective corporate partners whose philanthropic priorities align with AGE’s mission.
- Solicit corporate sponsorships and philanthropic support for AGE programs, events, and initiatives.
- Manage relationships with assigned corporate partners and ensure sponsorship benefits and stewardship commitments are fulfilled.
- Work collaboratively with the Development & Communications team to develop compelling sponsorship opportunities and materials.
Annual Giving & Development Initiatives
- Support the planning and execution of annual fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, giving days, and other revenue-generating initiatives.
- Assist with donor segmentation, solicitation strategies, and targeted outreach.
- Help identify opportunities to convert event attendees, volunteers, program supporters, and community partners into donors.
- Participate in the development and execution of donor acquisition and retention strategies.
Special Events
- Support fundraising strategy for AGE’s signature events and other donor engagement opportunities.
- Assist with sponsor and table solicitation, donor cultivation, guest engagement, and stewardship.
- Work with staff, volunteers, committees, and community partners to maximize event revenue and relationship-building opportunities.
- Conduct strategic follow-up with event attendees and prospects to develop relationships beyond the event itself.
Development Operations
- Maintain accurate and timely donor and prospect records within AGE’s CRM.
- Document donor interactions, moves management activity, solicitations, pledges, and stewardship efforts.
- Assist with revenue tracking, fundraising reports, portfolio analysis, and development projections.
- Use donor data and fundraising trends to identify opportunities for increased engagement and revenue.
- Collaborate with Finance and other departments as needed to ensure accurate gift processing and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, sales, relationship management, business development, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability or strong potential to cultivate relationships and generate revenue.
- Comfortable asking individuals and organizations for financial support.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of goals and projects.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data management.
- Experience using a donor CRM or comparable relationship-management system preferred.
- Ability to represent AGE professionally and enthusiastically in the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; stoop, kneel, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
Excellent multi-tasking skills are essential. Must have demonstrated ability to plan, organize, delegate, motivate, monitor and achieve results. Communication skills, especially in public speaking and writing, are necessary. Working knowledge of personal computers. The ability to positively handle a multitude of tasks and challenges is a must.
Pay: $51,000.00 per year
