Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented PCB Electrical Test Technician to perform electrical testing, verification, and validation of printed circuit boards and assemblies. The role focuses on functional testing, troubleshooting, soldering and rework, assembly support, and accurate documentation to ensure products meet design specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PCBs/PCBA, test equipment, and assembly processes, and will work closely with engineering and production teams to support product release and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Perform functional and in-circuit testing of PCBs and PCBA using multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and automated test equipment (ATE) or TES platforms as required.

Execute verification and validation test procedures, record results, and escalate anomalies to engineering for root-cause analysis.

Perform manual soldering and desoldering for surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components, including precision rework and component replacement following IPC best practices.

Assemble and test electrical and mechanical subassemblies, including cable harnesses and wire harnesses, ensuring correct routing and termination.

Set up and maintain test fixtures, jigs, and bench equipment; calibrate and verify test instruments as needed.

Troubleshoot failures at component and board level using schematics, assembly drawings, and BOMs to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.

Support production by performing first article inspections, functional sign-offs, and production test station troubleshooting.

Maintain thorough documentation of test procedures, results, non-conformances, and repair actions in the document control or MES system.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve test coverage, reduce rework, and implement corrective actions for recurring defects.
Qualifications
-
Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience; military electronics background considered a plus.

2+ years of hands-on experience testing and reworking PCBs/PCBA in a manufacturing or lab environment, including surface mount and through-hole assembly.

Proven soldering and rework skills (SMT and through-hole) with experience using microscopes and precision tools; IPC certification (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610) preferred.

Proficient with electrical test equipment: digital multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer, and ATE/TES systems.

Experience with verification, validation, and test documentation practices, including test plan execution and traceable recordkeeping.

Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams for wire and cable harnesses.

Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systems, including component-level fault isolation and repair.

Familiarity with PCB rework techniques, ESD control procedures, and cleanroom/ESD-safe work practices.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.

Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and quality teams to drive product improvements.
