Brief Job Overview/Summary

The Sociology and Anthropology program, located within the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Stockton University, accepts applications from qualified adjunct (part-time) instructors. Opportunities may exist to teach an undergraduate course during the day or evening at our campuses in Galloway or Atlantic City. Services are contracted on a semester/term basis. Available teaching assignments vary semester to semester.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Adjunct instructors are expected to:

Teach courses as scheduled
Use Blackboard (the Learning Management System) to support the course
Provide a syllabus for students and the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences no later than the 1st day of classes in the semester they are teaching
Submit required and recommended course materials to the campus bookstore in a timely manner
Access student work and provide timely feedback
Provide weekly office hours (virtual or in-person) and communicate frequently with students
Select course objectives and administer student evaluations according to established timelines
Stay up to date in the field and pedagogy in higher ed.
Consult with the Center for Teaching and Learning Design (CTLD) as needed
Follow all guidelines and meet expectations of faculty in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences
