Job Overview
Someone who can work Monday 8 to 1pm, Tuesday through Thursday 1-6pm.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to dogs in the kennel and daycare environments, including feeding, walking, and monitoring behavior
- Assist with dog training activities and reinforce positive behaviors
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, and brushing as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to promote a hygienic environment
- Observe animals for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to veterinary staff or management
- Support pet sitting duties by caring for animals in our facility
- Assist groomers or other staff with animal care procedures when required
- Engage with pet owners professionally, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and answering questions about the business, appointments, and pet care
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet care, kennel work, or veterinary settings is preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling skills is a plus
- Experience with pet grooming, pet sitting, or veterinary assistant duties is advantageous
- Ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting pets or supplies)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if needed
