We hire experienced professionals for roles in landscape maintenance, enhancements, snow operations, and field leadership and we are looking for an Irrigation Technician to join our team.
PAY RANGE:
$23.50-27/hour, pay range is based on experience.
SHIFT:
This is Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Riverview is seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our growing team in Lumberton. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years experience in irrigation and is comfortable working independently and with others. We are open to ranges in experience and will pay based on level of experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect, maintain and repair irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties
- Complete lawn irrigation system activations and visual inspections
- Program various controller models
- Inspect and troubleshoot irrigation systems to identify and repair leaks, broken pipes, or malfunctioning components
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to sprinkler heads, piping, valves, backflow preventers, etc.
- Program and adjust irrigation controllers to ensure proper watering schedules
- Monitor water usage and make recommendations for water conservation measures
- Use wire tracers and/or valve locator to troubleshoot valve issues
- Locate, excavate, and repair/replace damaged underground piping
- Repair and/or replace rain sensor devices
- Professionally communicate with each customer the status/needs of their system
- Collaborate with landscaping teams to ensure proper placement of irrigation systems in relation to plantings and landscape design
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials uses
- Complete work orders and all associated paperwork
- Perform system winterizations
- Perform other tasks as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of irrigation repair experience
- Understand basic pipe sizing and irrigation design
- Ability to trouble shoot and diagnose possible problems or malfunctions
- Ability to replace damaged or malfunctioning equipment
- Ability to inspect properties and generate reports to insure the proper service
- Ability to dig, trench, backfill, and tamp in addition to other physical activity related to lawn sprinkler system installation and its repair
- Capable of standing, stooping, walking on uneven surfaces or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Operate trenching equipment or other heavy machinery.
- Subject to outdoor weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme cold, extreme heat, wet conditions, or exposure to animals (client's pets) or various insects.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work alone
- Strong communication skills and team work is essential
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial / residential irrigation systems
- Strong work ethic / self-starter
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
- Follows all safety policies and procedures
