The Maintenance Mechanic/Security personnel ensures the safety of patients, visitors and staff and intervenes when incidents occur by, including, but not limited to: internal and external security rounds scheduled at various times to secure the facility and surrounding grounds; logging any occurrences out of the ordinary in an irregularity report to be given to the Director of Plant Operations; appropriately deescalating volatile situations within the Hospital and notifying local police if necessary; maintaining that all mechanical equipment, tools and supplies are properly secured for the protection of patients, general public and fellow employees; safely managing all chemicals and referencing SDS sheets for exposures.

? Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting is required. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force is required frequently. Substantial movement of the wrists, hands and fingers is frequently required. Must be mechanically inclined with good hand/eye coordination. The degree of color, depth perception, and field of vision required for this position is that for use with those whose work deals with machines, devices and instruments where job is at or within arm’s reach.
