Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), foster an inclusive classroom environment, and collaborate with families, therapists, and school staff to ensure each student’s success. Duties
- Organize and lead our school's restorative justice room.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with special education law and district policies
- Utilize educational technology tools and innovative curriculum development strategies to enhance learning experiences
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques suited for students with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or other special needs
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral health specialists, and parents to coordinate interventions like speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and early intervention programs
- Monitor student progress through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Provide mentorship and support to teaching assistants or aides working within the classroom setting
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral incidents, and communication with families
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes social skills development and supports children’s emotional well-being
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with students with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders in a school or early childhood setting is required
- Demonstrated expertise in special education practices including curriculum development, lesson planning, behavior management for students with special needs, and IEP implementation
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders support strategies and deaf education techniques is highly desirable
- Experience integrating educational technology tools into lesson plans to enhance learning outcomes
- Familiarity with special education law, standardized testing procedures, and early childhood education frameworks such as Montessori or preschool programs is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and engaging families in the educational process
- Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering positive behavior management strategies for children with diverse needs

Pay: $45,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
