Building Monitor Part Time
Job Summary:
The Building Monitor’s main function is to greet residents and their guests who enter the building to check IDs and sign-in guests; maintain a clean and professional lobby environment; ensure the building is free of safety concerns, and generally monitor the property so the residents are ensured a quite and enjoyable living environment.
Hours/Shift: Morning weekends 12 hour shifts
Pay rate: $18-$19 per hour DOE
Job Responsibilities:
Check visiting guests in and out. Check the ID of all visitors and ensure visitors are signed-in. Monitor the sign-in sheets during nighttime hours to ensure all guest leave by the end of the night.
Walk each floor of the property at regular intervals to ensure the building is safe, and there are no safety/maintenance problems, or noise disturbances. Respond to tenant complaints. Assist with any tenant lock-outs.
Respond to emergencies and/or any criminal behavior and call police/paramedics if necessary. Be comfortable with communicating with residents if a guest is not allowed on the property. Monitor for any individuals who may attempt to enter the property without a resident.
Keep an incident log. Communicate with manager any concerns regarding tenants or guests.
Perform light cleaning duties such as organizing the trash area and recycle areas. Take out recycle bins as necessary. Keep lobby area swept, dusted and spot mopped. Be willing to attend to any mess that might occur in the common tenant bathrooms. Perform other light cleaning duties as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Excellent customer service skills.
Show good judgment. Have the ability to be firm, but fair, and be kind and compassionate.
Be willing to work with a population with special needs.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Qualifications required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1-3 years related experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Previous experience in customer service and administrative tasks.
- Basic bookkeeping and general mathematical principles preferred.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication skills.
- Pre-employment background check required.
