Join our dynamic legal team as an Estate Planning & Probate Associate Attorney, where you will play a vital role in guiding clients through complex estate planning and probate processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your comprehensive legal expertise to craft personalized estate plans, navigate probate procedures, and provide strategic legal counsel. You will work closely with clients, courts, and other legal professionals to ensure smooth administration of estates while maintaining high standards of legal advocacy and client service. Duties
- Draft and review estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives to meet clients’ unique needs.
- Manage all aspects of probate proceedings, including filing petitions, handling court depositions, and overseeing estate administration.
- Provide expert legal counsel on probate laws, estate tax implications, and asset distribution strategies.
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on statutory laws, procedural law, and relevant case law.
- Prepare legal motions, court pleadings, and trial documentation for litigation cases involving estate disputes or contested wills.
- Negotiate settlements in estate-related conflicts while advocating effectively for clients’ interests.
- Assist in personal injury cases related to estate matters or client incidents by coordinating with other legal specialists when necessary.
- Maintain detailed case management records using modern legal case management software to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Communicate clearly with clients about case progress, legal options, and procedural requirements to foster trust and transparency.
- Support the firm’s broader litigation efforts by contributing expertise in general & commercial litigation, employment law cases, or other relevant areas as needed.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of estate planning laws, probate procedures, and trust administration.
- Proven experience with personal injury law, employment law cases, or general litigation enhances versatility.
- Strong negotiation skills to settle disputes amicably while protecting client interests.
- Proficiency in conducting legal research with LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms.
- Skilled in drafting contracts, legal motions, pleadings, and comprehensive legal documents with precision.
- Excellent courtroom advocacy skills including trial preparation and participation in court depositions.
- Familiarity with procedural law requirements across various jurisdictions; ability to manage complex case files efficiently.
- Effective client communication skills to explain intricate legal concepts clearly and empathetically.
- Experience working within a law office environment with a focus on legal case management systems.
- Knowledge of diverse practice areas such as environmental law, tribal law & regulations, securities law, patent law, workers’ compensation law, landlord-tenant law, family law, employment law & statutory research further broadens your expertise base.
