American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a TN or compact license, 2+ years of PACU experience, and prior travel nursing experience

Work in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) of a hospital setting
-
13-week assignment
-
Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:30 AM-8:00 PM)

On-call responsibilities required
-
Rotating weekend and holiday call coverage required
-
Patient ratio of 1:2
-
Supports Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery
-
Cares for surgical patients across specialties including neuro/spine, ortho, ENT, urology, GI, GYN, plastics, and thoracic cases
-
Active RN license (TN or Compact) required in-hand at time of submission
-
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only); PALS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, and dysrhythmia recognition
-
Skilled in airway assessment, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
-
Experience starting and maintaining IVs, central line care, and PICC line management
-
Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred
-
Experience with various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
-
BSN required for international candidates
-
Provide pre- and post-operative care including discharge instructions and medication reconciliation

Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties

Must complete a drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start date, with willingness to repeat testing if necessary
-
Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines; refusal may result in cancellation

Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted

General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework, averaging 4-5 hours of non-billable modules
-
First-time travelers are not preferred for this role given the travel experience requirement
