Every day, we empower the individuals we serve through person-centered support, skill development, and community involvement.
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Day Program, you'll provide direct care, supervision, and encouragement to adults with autism in a structured, engaging environment. You'll help participants develop independence, build life skills, and enjoy meaningful daily experiences while supporting their health, safety, and personal goals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing direct care, supervision, and individualized support
Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living
Administering and documenting medications
Implementing behavior support strategies
Teaching and reinforcing life skills
Providing transportation to community activities and appointments
Maintaining accurate documentation
Creating a structured, engaging, and supportive daily environment
Monday through Friday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

NHIA provides extensive hands-on training to ensure every Direct Support Professional has the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to provide exceptional care and support. From your first day, you'll receive the guidance and resources needed to build a successful career.
High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree (diploma or transcripts required)
Must be at least 20 years of age
Valid New Jersey driver's license
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including:
Background Check

CARI
DMV Check
Fingerprinting
Drug Screening
Physical Examination
PPD Testing
Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour
