Healthcare Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Healthcare Customer Service Representative to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and insurance carriers, assisting with inquiries related to appointments, billing, insurance verification, and healthcare services.

Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Schedule appointments and assist patients with registration and account updates.
- Verify insurance eligibility and explain coverage information when appropriate.
- Assist patients with billing questions, payment inquiries, and account resolution.
- Document all interactions accurately within the electronic medical records (EMR) or customer service system.
- Coordinate with clinical staff, providers, and insurance companies to resolve patient concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow up on outstanding patient requests and provide timely updates.
- Support additional administrative and customer service tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of customer service experience required; healthcare, medical office, insurance, or call center experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls and inquiries.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, or healthcare billing is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
