The City of Grandview is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Part-Time Recruiter to support the full employment lifecycle and help attract talented individuals who serve our community every day.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the employee experience—from the first interaction with candidates through onboarding. You will partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs, connect with qualified candidates, and ensure our hiring practices remain compliant, efficient, and welcoming.

This position works approximately 24 hours per week (about three days) and reports to the Human Resources Director.
Job Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to)
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates for City positions
- Prepare and post job announcements across multiple platforms
- Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with applicants and hiring managers
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Ensure recruitment and hiring practices comply with applicable employment laws and City policies
- Assist with offer letters, new-hire documentation, and onboarding materials
- Guide new employees through the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and positive transition
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking systems
- Collaborate with department leaders and HR to anticipate staffing needs and improve hiring practices
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- 2+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or related HR experience
- Knowledge of HR policies and practices and experience working with HRIS systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- A professional, service-oriented approach to working with candidates and employees
- Ability to pass background and reference checks
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience working in local, state, or federal government
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or similar)
- Experience using design tools such as Canva or Adobe to create recruiting materials
Pay & Benefits
$25.47 - $34.38 hourly, depending on qualifications. Part-Time employees accrue PTO and receive paid holidays.
