About the Role
Summit Custom Homes LLC is a family-oriented company specializing in everything from custom residential homes to small sub-divisions. We are looking for an experienced Foreman with strong leadership, organizational skills, and a "get-it-done" mentality to join our team.
Core Responsibilities
- Communication: Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors/managers, direct reports, vendors
- Field Leadership: Lead and manage 1 to 2 labors to ensure all project tasks are completed efficiently and on budget in alignment with project goals.
- Strategic Planning: Build and execute project strategies; for on-time and on-budget project delivery.
- Safety & Compliance: Proactively protect the health and condition of all employees and equipment under your supervision with all applicable rules and regulations.
- Coordination: Collaborate daily with the Project Manager regarding site performance, supply needs, and schedule tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in mass excavation, grading, building proper fills, and the installation of all civil underground utilities.
- Plane: Ability to read plans and visualize a project from start to finish, to maximize efficiency.
- Survey: Ability to read surveys staking and utilize rotary lasers, grade rods and provide clean layouts (A strong knowledge of Civil work will be highly valuable in this role) and a strong knowledge of residential excavation.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of varying municipal codes and construction practices
- Technology: Must have basic computer/technical skills and be willing to learn new technology
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating multiple types of heavy equipment. (Mini Excavator, Mid-size excavators, skid steers, front end loader, bulldozer.
- Background Requirements: Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be insurable.
- Leadership: Have at least 2 years of experience ina leadership role in overseeing excavation work.
