We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Land Surveyor to join our dynamic surveying team. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage surveying teams in field data collection, boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and construction staking.
- Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment such as GPS systems, 3D scanners, Trimble devices, and total stations to gather accurate spatial data.
- Prepare detailed survey drawings using CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and ArcGIS.
- Develop legal descriptions, construction plans, schematics, and ALTA surveys with precision and adherence to industry standards.
- Conduct GIS analysis and utilize GIS tools for mapping and spatial data management.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications by managing project timelines, budgets, and quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to interpret survey data for design development and construction planning.
- Maintain thorough documentation of survey data, field notes, and reports for future reference and legal purposes.
- Operate surveying equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols during field operations.
- Oversee the training and mentoring of junior surveyors to enhance team productivity and skill development.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of land surveying principles including boundary determination, topographic mapping, and construction staking.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit; GIS tools like ArcGIS; and Carlson software suite.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts related to schematics, construction plans, legal descriptions, and site layouts.
- Experience operating GPS surveying equipment including Trimble systems; familiarity with 3D scanners and total stations.
- Solid grasp of algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and math fundamentals essential for precise measurements and calculations.
- Ability to manage multiple surveying projects simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy standards.
- Excellent leadership skills in managing surveying teams during field operations; capable of coordinating schedules effectively.
- Knowledge of survey data collection techniques for boundary surveys, topographic mapping, construction surveys, and ALTA surveys.
- Familiarity with land development processes including managing mapping or surveying teams within civil engineering projects.
- Strong communication skills for preparing clear reports; collaborating with engineers; interpreting technical drawings; understanding schematics.
