Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Finisher to join our production team. In this multi-function role, you will be responsible for stamping, finishing, labeling, inspecting, packaging, and preparing custom components for shipment in a high-mix, low-volume environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering clean, precise, and professionally packaged parts, and thrives in a setting with constant variety and changing priorities.
Essential Functions:
Perform deburring, sanding, polishing, and cleaning of plastic parts to meet cosmetic and dimensional standards.
Use hand tools, abrasives, and small power tools to refine surface finishes and remove excess material.
Inspect finished parts for cosmetic defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall quality.
Follow job travelers, blueprints, and work instructions for each job.
Prepare parts for shipment by cleaning, labeling, and packaging to customer or internal specifications.
Select appropriate protective materials, containers, and packaging methods for delicate or high-value plastic components.
Generate and verify shipping documents including labels, packing slips, and part counts.
Assist with organizing outgoing shipments and coordinating with shipping carriers when needed.
Maintain proper documentation and ensure traceability for serialized or quality-controlled parts.
Track and report completed jobs in ERP or job tracking systems (as applicable).
Work across a wide variety of part sizes, shapes, and material types in a fast-paced, short-run production environment.
Identify and report nonconforming parts or packaging issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area according to 5S and lean manufacturing standards.
Communicate effectively with team members in machining, assembly, quality, and shipping.
Qualifications:
1+ year of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics preferred).
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Ability to read basic work instructions, assembly drawings, and part numbers.
Comfortable working with a variety of tools (e.g., torque drivers, calipers, small hand tools, debur torch tool).
Able to adapt quickly to new products, part configurations, and assembly methods.
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Work Environment:
Exposure to loud noise and varying temperatures.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
Hands-on role requiring standing, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting of materials or fixturing.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively.
This position may involve exposure to, but is not limited to, the following materials: acrylic, polycarbonate, FR-4 epoxy glass, GPO (I, III, III) polyester glass, HDPE (high-density polyethylene), glass epoxy, G9 melamine laminate, copper, brass, and aluminum.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive hourly wage/salary based on experience.
