Position Objectives:
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all electrical and mechanical equipment used and operated in Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collection, and Water Distribution. Electrical installation experience, Journeyman’s certificate, and instrumentation/SCADA experience are a plus. Preferred candidate will hold a certificate or AS degree in Electrical Technologies or similar field; or a combination of related education and work experience totaling three years. HS diploma or GED required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all mechanical/electrical equipment and system components including but not limited to pumps, valves, piping and gauges
·Installs, calibrates, and maintains instrumentation, SCADA, telemetry, VFDs, control panels
·Ensures a high level of safety in high voltage situations and follows national electrical code in installations and maintenance.
·Plans and installs conduit and wiring from simple circuit to complex control panels
·Uses test equipment to troubleshoot include multi-meter and gauges
·Installs, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots generators
·Reads and interprets electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
·Researches and locates vendors to procure parts and components
·Operates vactor, crane, and boom trucks; operates pump stations; uses hand and power tools
·Rebuilds, installs, and troubleshoots submersible and suction lift pumps
·Enters and exits confined spaces to include wet wells and manholes
·Performs afterhours duty, emergency response\troubleshooting within 6 months of hire
