Position Title: Slitting Machine Operator
Reports To: Converting Manager / Production Supervisor
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Slitting Machine Operator to join our flexible packaging manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating slitting equipment to convert printed and laminated film into finished rolls that meet customer specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.
The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment safely and efficiently. Prior slitting machine operator experience is highly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up and operate slitting machines according to job specifications and production schedules
- Verify materials, dimensions, core sizes, widths, wind direction, and customer requirements prior to production
- Monitor roll quality throughout production to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Inspect rolls for defects including telescoping, loose winds, wrinkles, blocking, and edge quality
- Perform proper web alignment, tension adjustments, and knife setup
- Complete required production paperwork, quality checks, and system entries accurately
- Package and label finished product according to work instructions
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with GMP and safety requirements
- Communicate equipment, quality, or material issues to supervision and QA promptly
- Assist with changeovers, roll handling, and material movement as needed
- Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, HACCP principles, and quality procedures
Qualifications
- Prior slitting machine operator experience highly preferred
- Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience required
- Flexible packaging, converting, printing, or film manufacturing experience is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret job orders and specifications
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules when needed

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
