Summary
Under the general supervision of department management and the direct supervision of a Lead Diagnostic Technician, performs limited radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Provides general clerical support for medical imaging department.
Qualifications
o Enrollment in an accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Minimum of 120 hours of clinical training and 80 hours of classroom curriculum required.
o Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for healthcare providers
o Strong interpersonal communication skills for patient, patient’s family
o Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, nurses, patients and their families and co-workers.
o Ability to work at any in or outpatient location according to a monthly schedule or as needed
Essential Functions
Performs limited radiographic procedures as determined by a physician under the indirect supervision of a fully licensed Radiologic Technologist.
o Verifies correctness and appropriateness of all orders and obtains necessary patient consent forms prior to examinations.
o Determines proper technique based on patient condition and/or size and properly positions patients for exams
o Operates all radiographic equipment including but not limited to portable, fluoroscopic and C-Arm equipment under the direct or indirect supervision of a fully licensed Radiologic technologist. Perform procedures throughout the hospital including the intensive care unit, cardiac care unit, recovery room, emergency room and the operating room.
- Performs general clerical assignments throughout the department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
