Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and diagnostic assessments using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including psychopharmacology treatments, following HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and patient education.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as icanotes to document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for diverse populations across different locations.
- Assist in clinical research initiatives related to behavioral health and mental health interventions.
Skills
- Proven experience working with behavioral health patients across outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Icanotes or similar platforms for medical documentation.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to assess complex mental health conditions effectively.
- Ability to perform physical examinations when necessary and manage acute psychiatric crises confidently.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and medical records management practices.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
