Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our current team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with medical terminology, and seek to provide exceptional care and service to our patients. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their eyewear needs, ensuring they receive the best possible solutions for their vision requirements.
Duties
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
- Conduct fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting prescriptions and eyewear selections.
- Utilize medical coding for insurance claims processing and billing purposes.
- Educate patients on proper care and maintenance of their eyewear.
- Collaborate with the optometrists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor inventory levels of eyewear products and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology to provide informed recommendations.
Qualifications
- Enjoys taking care of people and their optical needs.
- Experience in sales is preferred to effectively assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear.
- Proficiency in managing medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Understanding of medical coding practices for insurance purposes is a plus.
