Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally within school settings
- Certification as an educational interpreter or equivalent credentials
- Ability to interpret for high school-aged students in academic and social settings
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team spirit
- Strong organizational skills and reliability for consistent daily attendance
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, in-person sign language interpretation for high school students during classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, meetings, and school events
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to support student participation and understanding
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all educational settings
