The Outdoor Growing Team Member monitors and maintains annual and perennial crops in the field. This position utilizes chemicals, fertilizers, and biologicals to encourage, enhance, and protect high quality crop growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Monitor annual and perennial crops for proper watering, fertilizer, and pest control.

Collaborate with Outdoor Growing Manager on crop care management options and solutions.
- Apply appropriate fertilizers, biologicals and other horticultural products to protect crops against disease and insects or to enhance growth.

Maintain accurate records of all crop care activities.

Evaluate data to identify crop challenges.
-
Identify measures to increase effective outcomes related to crop growth.

Monitor weather and respond appropriately to best maintain crop quality.
OTHER DUTIES

Clean and maintain work areas.

Confer with supervisor and management to implement operational decisions.

Execute the duties of the position in alignment with the Company Mission and Conduct Policies.

Use technology as required by the position.

Complete required annual trainings as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-
Bachelor’s degree in horticulture or equivalent experience required.
-
Proven experience growing annual and perennial crops in a commercial field environment required.
-
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
-
Pesticide License strongly encouraged.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
-
Knowledge of horticultural chemicals, fertilizers, and other products related to plant care and maintenance.

Moderate knowledge of annuals and perennials.
-
Able to perform most tasks independently and without significant supervision.

Elevated knowledge of irrigation equipment and operations.
-
Comfortable operating a forklift and tractor.

Able to operate all types of spray equipment (tractors, backpack, fertilizer injectors)

Intermediate ability to identify plant insects and diseases.

Can perform basic pluming and operate irrigation pumps.
-
Strong attention to detail.

Excellent data analytics and reporting skills.

Basic math skills.
