Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cook to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in meal preparation, food service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure that residents or clients receive nutritious, well-presented meals while adhering to safety standards and food handling protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food service according to established recipes and menus
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food production and cleaning processes
- Follow food safety management practices to ensure hygiene and sanitation standards are met
- Support the dietary team with slicing, knife skills, and other culinary techniques as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including surfaces, utensils, and equipment
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal delivery and special dietary needs
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and assisting in food handling procedures
Qualifications
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely in a food industry or restaurant setting
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal plans
- Catering experience or culinary background is a plus
